What is Engineering and Natural Sciences?

Engineering and Natural Sciences is a group of sciences that produces technological solutions to real world problems using basic sciences. Technological innovations can be shown as proof of a society's ability to invent, its desire / ability to solve problems, and its cultural richness. In this context; it can be concluded that technological innovations are affected by the society in which they are located and affect that society back. Engineering and Natural Sciences; it would be appropriate to define it as a group of proffesions that is triggered by curiosity, earned by study, developed with experience and practice as a result of the skillful application of physics - chemistry - mathematics and similar basic sciences, transforming knowledge of material into machines and devices, presenting its products for the benefit of humanity in an economical and measured way.

History of ISTE FENS

Iskenderun Technical University was established with the Law No. 6640 published in the Official Gazette dated 23.04.2015 and numbered 29335, with the Annex-160 article added to the Higher Education Law dated 28.03.1983 and numbered 2809. In time, academic units were redesigned according to the university vision and the characteristics of the region in order to provide the best services. Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences was established on 13 June 2016 within the body of İskenderun Technical University.

Our faculty is located at the ISTE Central Campus in the Iskenderun district of Hatay province.

There are 10 departments within the faculty:

Integration with the Business World (IDE)

In line with our mission, the Integration with the Business World (IDE) program is implemented at our University in order to support us to train well-equipped engineers with the knowledge and working skills required by the Engineering profession.

Integration with the Business World (IDE) is a program that offers a full-time work experience in line with their vision and goals just before their graduation to successful students who are enrolled in undergraduate and associate degree programs, do not have any undergraduate courses, and prefer the Business World. In this context, it is carried out successfully in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

ISTE – IDE has a unique characteristic with its unique structure, different from the universities that implement long-term internship programs in our country and in the world.

    • Since all of their theoretical courses have been completed, we give the title of "Integrator" to students who prefer the IDE program, who take their first steps into the profession and act as a bridge between the Business World and the University, rather than an "intern".
    • IDE grants both students and companies the right to choose within the scope of University - Industry Cooperation.
    • It is not a compulsory application, it is in the category of elective courses.
    • A successful IDE application is made because students prefer the sector or even the company they want to integrate in line with their wishes, visions and goals.
    • Students have the opportunity to develop their self-confidence and entrepreneurship by making previous interviews with the companies they want to work with.
    • In addition, companies can determine the Integrators themselves by making preliminary interviews.
    • Engineering and Natural Sciences students have the opportunity to gain experience one step before their graduation in companies that have engineers and can offer employment opportunities for our Integrators.
    • In order to develop their Human Resources strategies and contribute to their Human Resources Planning, businesses can carry out the trial process within the scope of the program by choosing Integrators from the professions they plan to employ thanks to the IDE program.
    • In addition, each Integrator has a consultant from both the university and the company.
